Greg Powell, owner of a 1958 Morgan Plus Four, sought out this car specifically because his father used to own one. He believes it was one of the only cars on Alvarado Street with wood inside. “I always wanted a racecar,” Powell said. “After I first bought it, I didn’t have anywhere to store it, so I kept it at my parents’ house and I still do today. It’s a way to connect with my dad, and I love driving it. It’s competitive and fun.” (Kyarra Harris/Monterey Herald)
A 1963 Corvette Split Window owned by Steve Yarborough from Reno. Yarborough has been racing and collecting historic cars for years, but this was his first year being invited to Car Week races. “I’ve never been in a show like this before,” Yarborough said. “You usually race and leave, so this was nice to have a big show to share your car and have people come sit inside and take pictures.”(Kyarra Harris/Monterey Herald)
