Mary Ann Spangenberg OBITUARY

Mary Ann Spangenberg passed away Sunday December 28, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1942, to Emory and Elizabeth McGrew in Tacoma, Washington and grew up in Colusa, California. After completing her teaching degree at Chico State, she moved to the Monterey Peninsula where she taught Kindergarten before starting her family.

She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Sally and Erik Larson; daughter and son-in-law Joanna and Stephen Andres; and son Charles Spangenberg III; six grandchildren; Jack, Samantha, Braeden, Joshua, Charlie IV, and William. She also leaves behind her sister Peggy Smith and brother-in-law Doug Smith.

In addition to teaching kindergarten and raising her family, Mary Ann returned to Forest Grove Elementary to be a teacher’s aide for many years before retiring and focusing on many crafting projects.
