LOS ANGELES — The always-anticipated Warriors-Lakers matchup scheduled to take place on Saturday has lost a bit of its luster.

Steph Curry will miss his third consecutive game with runner’s knee, The Athletic’s Nick Friedell reported. It is an injury that can only be healed through rest.

The Warriors are 5-8 when Curry does not play, but did beat the Suns on Thursday in the team’s first game since the trade deadline.

Curry is averaging a team-high 27.2 points per game and will be a starter in the All-Star game next week in Inglewood.

And while Warriors nemesis LeBron James is expected to play for the Lakers, his teammate Luka Doncic will likely be out after injuring his hamstring on Thursday against the 76ers.

Golden State (28-24) will welcome Kristaps Porzingis to the team on Saturday, but he is not expected to play either.
